Theatre Odyssey's iconic Ten-Minute Play Festival celebrates 21 years in January 2026—eight plays selected for premiere from over 100 submissions from Florida playwrights. All eight plays will be presented at each performance, along with a bonus production, the winner of our most recent Student Ten-Minute Playwriting Festival. Each performance will be two hours, including a ten-minute intermission. Immediately following the Sunday, January 11th matinee performance, the Best Play and the winner of The Verna Safran Prize for Excellence in Playwriting (including a $500 prize) are announced live. The festival venue is the Jane B. Cook Theatre at the FSU Center of the Performing Arts (the Cook Theatre is located in the same building as Asolo Repertory Theatre, FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, and Sarasota Ballet).
