Show Notes

× CreArte Latino Presents VOCES de la Maternidad

All performances are in Spanish, with English surtitles available.

Our creative project ""VOCES"" aims to share the experiences and perspectives of the Latino community in Manatee and Sarasota counties. Through narratives collected from conversations with community members, it seeks to highlight social realities and promote open dialogue on relevant issues. These narratives are presented in the form of ""dramatic readings,"" performed by actors on stage, followed by discussions involving the audience, directors, individuals who shared their testimonies, and the actors. One of the specific themes addressed is "VOICES OF MOTHERHOOD" , which aims to generate a conversation about motherhood, a topic that has traditionally been normalized and romanticized. The initiative aims to give voice to women, explore motherhood in its complexity and duality, and reflect on the role of memory and the healing process that this experience entails.

Rated R (17+)

There will be a talk back at the end of each performance.
