Theatre Odyssey Nineteenth Annual Ten-Minute Play Festival

× This Nineteenth Annual Ten-Minute Play Festival presents eight plays selected by our readers and written by Florida playwrights. The plays will be performed for the first time at this festival. One playwright, whose play is selected by our qualified judges for BEST PLAY, will receive the Verna Safran Prize--a $500 cash prize. The author of the Runner-up play will receive a $300 cash prize. Performances of all eight plays in the competition for Best Play and Runner-up are on January 11th, 12th, and 13th 2023, beginning at 7:30 p.m, and January 14th at 2 p.m. A live announcement and the Verna Safran Prize presentation for BEST PLAY and for Runner-up play will follow the January 14th matinee. READY OR NOT by Michael Anthony Mercado (Ellenton)


All eight plays are presented at each performance along with a reprised production of the BEST PLAY from the Eleventh Student Ten-Minute Playwriting Festival, FLYING SOLO WITH IBD by Spencer Opal-Levine of Sarasota.
The festival takes place at the Jane B. Cook Theatre at the Asolo/FSU Center for the Performing Arts, 5555 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
