Show Notes

× Love in Revue

Make your Valentine's weekend reservations and bring your special someone to the Manatee Performing Arts Center. See some of your favorite performers live in concert as they set the mood for this romantic holiday weekend with renditions of Hollywood and Broadway's favorite love songs paired with a spectacular multimedia presentation.
Michael Bajjaly-Michael’s favorite musical is Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Carousel. His favorite movie about love is The Sound of Music (Rodgers and Hammerstein again…). When it comes to songs, “My Heart is So Full of You” from The Most Happy Fella is his choice to listen to while dining on shrimp, assorted cheese and chardonnay. To quote her majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, “Grief is the price we pay for love.”
Sarah Cassidy-Her favorites include the movie to musical Shrek and the Billy Crystal-Meg Ryan rom com When Harry Met Sally. Thoroughly Modern Millie has her favorite love song, Gimme Gimme" and she loves to listen to it while enjoying some dark chocolate truffles. Her favorite quote is “The heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.” -The Wizard to the Tin Man
Eliza Morehouse- She graced the stage as Maria in last season’s hit (and one of the most beautiful musicals about love) West Side Story with the classics “Tonight” and “Somewhere”. Other romantic favorites include Tony ‘n’ Tina’s Wedding and Annie Get Your Gun.
Mike Nolan- Mike chose West Side Story as his favorite Broadway musical. On the big screen, he enjoys the classic The Princess Bride and nothing beats “All You Need is Love” by The Beatles on his playlist while dining on chocolate-covered strawberries. “I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”-Harry Burns
Kathryn Parks-A few of her favorite things are Broadway’s She Love Me and the romance of the sci-fi hit Independence Day. Her favorite Valentine’s treat is a nicely cooked roast beef while listening to “Someone to Watch Over Me.” Eliza Doolittle said it best when she sang, “I only know that when he began to dance with me, I could have danced, danced, danced all night.”
Alex Zickafoose-He is a romantic at heart (and heart-shaped is how he wants his pizza too)! Once is his favorite romantic musical while Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is his favorite movie about love) while he considers Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” as THE love song. To quote the late Richard Pryor, “Marriage is really tough because you have to deal with feeling and lawyers.”
